We are seeking energetic, responsible and creative individuals to help people with developmental disabilities participate in social and recreational activities in their communities and develop connections to their neighbors and neighborhoods.
- Provide assistance to people as they work at paid and volunteer jobs and participate in sports, classes, social events and other community activities.
- Help participants learn to use public transportation, make purchases and handle money.
- Assist people to develop friendships and become contributing community members.
- Work with family and community members; develop connections to community organizations.
- Complete required paperwork.
High school diploma or GED. Prior experience a plus, but not essential. You must be a caring and committed individual with a genuine desire to support and help others and sensitive to the needs and preferences of people with disabilities.
$11.00 an hour; tuition reimbursement available after nine months

The Life Coaching Project at Job Path supports young adults who have high functioning Autism/Asperger's Syndrome to reach their goals. We are looking for open-minded, empathetic, responsible, mature mentors who are in their twenties or older to support individuals at college, at home and out in the community. In particular, we are looking for support workers who reside in Queens, but we will consider applicants from other boroughs. We are looking for part-time mentors for each day of the week and are happy to employ the right person for one or several days.
You will be required to fill out a daily checklist which will be submitted monthly and to maintain good communication with the agency (Job Path) and family. No experience is required but you must be a caring and committed individual with a genuine desire to support and help others. Training and support will be provided.
$11.00 an hour and tuition reimbursement after nine months

Provide support to individuals in their homes and in the community, assisting them in developing their independence and skills, and facilitating access to recreation and social activities.
- Help individuals meet their personal care needs, including personal hygiene, assistance with laundry, and preparing meals.
- Support individuals to take prescribed medicine, complying with all medication administration policies and procedures, including storage, administration and record keeping.
- Enable individuals to achieve independence in all areas of their life by providing appropriate information, training, counseling and support.
- Provide a safe, comfortable and supportive environment for the individuals we support.
- Assist individuals present themselves as valued members of the local community.
- Ensure that the rights of the people we support are always protected and respected.
- Liaise with others on behalf of the individuals.
